About

Hi there, I'm Kristi

I help middle school science teachers empower their students to take more ownership of their learning with engaging lessons that turn the teacher into a coach or facilitator instead of the giver of information.

With over 25 years in the classroom, I understand how hard it is to balance pacing guides that rush you through the standards while trying to motivate students who seem uninterested. It’s a tough balancing act, but you don’t have to choose between student engagement and getting through the material. That’s why I’ve create ready-to-use lessons and activities that are standards-aligned and designed to keep students excited about learning, plus organizational tools to help you manage your time and keep everything running smoothly.

Thanks for visiting! Since you’re here, I already know you’re the kind of teacher who’s always seeking new ways to engage and inspire your students. If you’re a middle school science teacher who’s ready for classroom-tested ideas and resources, you’re exactly where you need to be!

Perhaps you’re on the hunt for…

Let me tell you a little bit about myself...

Hi, I’m Kristi, and I’m passionate about helping middle schoolers develop the skills they need for life. I’ve been fortunate to teach at the same school for the past 25 years where many of my students come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, and a significant number are also language learners. My primary focus is on middle school science. However, in recent years, I’ve also taken on the challenge of teaching our computer classes and overseeing the yearbook program.

As a single parent of two wonderful children—one a high school senior and the other in their final year of elementary school—I understand the difficulty of balancing a teaching career with family life. Whether I’m completing coursework for a training program, preparing to lead a conference session, or helping other teachers integrate technology, my children have always been supportive. They’ve seen firsthand the benefits of hard work and dedication. The same skills I teach my students are the ones I instill in my own kids.

Much like you, I hold a set of core beliefs that shape everything I do in the classroom.

  • I believe students learn best when they feel safe, loved, and empowered to take ownership of their learning.
  • I believe differentiated and flexible teaching helps us reach every student, no matter their background or challenges.
  • I believe learning should be fun, rigorous, and focused on both academics and life skills.
  • I believe education is always evolving, and we must keep learning and adapting to serve our students.
  • I believe teachers can be amazing without sacrificing their personal or family time.

Grab your favorite drink, settle in, and take your time exploring! I’m sure you’ll come across something to inspire your next middle school science lesson.
