Description

Outer planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune) science reading with note-taking template and comprehension worksheet that has leveled questions. Perfect for common core in the science classroom. This is part of my solar system guided reading. It has both a printed and digital version.

Common Core in the science classroom is all about being able to read expository articles and other texts such as data tables and use the evidence from the readings to support their answers. Students are able to read the information about the solar system and the data tables of the key characteristics. They then have to analyze, organize, and find patterns in the information to answer some high-level Depth of Knowledge questions.

This is a free preview of my Science Expository Reading on the Solar System

Included:

-1 Expository reading article

– 1 worksheet to assess the students’ comprehension of the reading

– Answer keys to go with worksheet

– Lesson Design

This is absolutely one of my favorite resources I have purchased through TPT and I spend more than $400 a year! It has so many interesting aspects. My students really enjoyed learning with these labs.

I bought this lesson with all of my students in mind, but gave special consideration to my students that have IEPs and seem to struggle with staying on task. We're currently in the process of working through the prokaryote and eukaryote cells and I'm finding this to be so convenient for my students. It's something that they'll be able to easily refer back to also. Thank you for creating such a colorful, fun and useful resource!
